Mosiah 26:18 "Yea, blessed is this people who are willing to bear my name; for in my name shall they be called; and they are mine."

Jesus claims us as his own . . . we belong!

They Forsook Their Fathers' Names

Mosiah 25:12 " . . the children of Amulon . . were displeased with the conduct of their fathers, and (forsook) the names of their fathers . . "

Actions have consequences.

They Should Keep Their Record

Mosiah 24:6 " . . they taught them that they should keep their record . . "

The records we keep are a legacy for our posterity.

An Instrument In His Hands

Mosiah 23:10 " . .  after much tribulation, the Lord did hear my cries, and did answer my prayers, and has made me an instrument in his hands . . "

Listen To My Words

Mosiah 22:4 " . . if thou has hitherto listened to my words in any degree . . listen to my words at this time . . "

Advisors who have earned our trust are those we listen to again.

A Witness and a Testimony

Mosiah 21:35 "They were desirous to be baptized as a witness and a testimony that they were willing to serve God with all their hearts;"

Baptism is a step forward.

Like Dragons Did They Fight

Stand as Witnesses of God

Alma Wrote the Words

Mosiah 17:3-4 "Alma . . did write all the words which Abinadi had spoken."

Acknowledge prophets . . listen to, pray about, read, write, and follow their words.

The Time Shall Come

Mosiah 16:1 "The time shall come when . . every nation, kindred, tongue, and people shall see eye to eye . ."

But yesterday was not that day.

The Founder of Peace

Mosiah 15:18 ". . For O how beautiful . . are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that is the founder of peace, yea, even the Lord, who has redeemed his people;"

Jesus Has Borne Our Griefs

Mosiah 14:4 "Surely (Jesus) has borne our griefs . . ."

Apply Your Heart to Understanding

Mosiah 12:27 "Ye have not applied your hearts to understanding; therefore, ye have not been wise."

Wisdom is to understand with your head and your heart.

Lying and Vain Words

Mosiah 11:11 " . . they . . speak lying and vain words to (the) people."

King Noah and his priests remind me of some "leaders" of our day whose lies are destructive.

Beware of Deception

Mosiah 10:18 " . . king Laman, by his cunning, and lying craftiness, and his fair promises, (has) deceived me,"

When leaders seek power and domination, beware.

Bringing People into Bondage

Mosiah 9:10-13 "Now it was the cunning and the craftiness of king Laman, to bring my people into bondage . ."

Sound familiar?

Work Mighty Miracles

Mosiah 8:18 " . . God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles;"

With faith, a common bud of a blessing can flower into a mighty miracle.

If My People Sow Filthiness

Mosiah 7:30 ". . If my people shall sow filthiness they shall reap the chaff thereof in the whirlwind . ."

Ultimately, consequences follow our thoughts, words, and actions.

No Contention Among His People

Mosiah 6:7 " . . there was no contention among all his people for the space of three years."

The secret to peace is obedience to the commandments of God.

Who is My Master?

Mosiah 5:13 " . . how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served . . and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?"

Who is my Master? That should show daily.

Peace of Conscience

Mosiah 4:3 " . . having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ . . "

We look forward with confidence when Jesus lights our way.

No Other Name

Mosiah 3:17 " . . there shall be no other name given . . whereby salvation can come . . only in and through the name of Christ,"

Jesus Christ is the way . . the only way.

Towards the Temple

Mosiah 2:6 "And they pitched their tents . . with the door thereof towards the temple . . "

If our homes are far from temples, our hearts can always be "pitched towards" them.

If Not For These Records

Mosiah 1:3 " . . were it not for these . .  records and these commandments, we must have suffered in ignorance . . "

We have chances to preserve a record for our posterity.

I Chose These Things

Words of Mormon 1:5 " . . I chose (to write) these things . . and I cannot write the hundredth part of the things of my people."

What to write and preserve? Choosing takes courage!

The Ministering of Angels
